A new method of learning : the 1-2-3 system

Chantal Wyseur

To teach, schools primarily use words and still pictures, as traditional teaching methods are developed for those who think in words. But when a student is thinking in films, the operation is different: as they have to touch or move to learn, they need a « third dimension » in which to put words into context and make representations of real life printed on paper come alive, in a kind of mental projection.

This is the challenge of the 1-2-3 system, developed by Chantal Wyseur who, through this practical, illustrated and accessible book, takes on academic fundamentals providing concrete tools to help ‘film thinkers’ come out of their learning difficulties.

For teachers, parents of students with difficulties, children directly from age 13, and the autodidacts wanting to correct bad habits.

A historian by training, Chantal Wyseur was professor of humanities in a Brussels high school from 1983 to 2010. School Coach specializing in learning disabilities, she published « The timeless brain of dyslexics » (Desclée de Brouwer) in 2009.
